Carissa took her first yoga class while going to college in Santa Barbara. After graduating she moved home and began to pursue a second degree in nursing. While working in the emergency room, she started taking yoga regularly in order to relax after a long day at work and could feel the changes in all aspects of her life. Not only did she notice the improvement in her ability to better work with patients but the overall happiness that comes from practicing such a beautiful art form. In 2013, she became a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor through Tamal Yoga School at Training Camp. Carissa believes healing can happen in so many forms but it is important to take time to recharge and heal yourself in order to better serve others. She hopes that by teaching yoga she can help people find strength, happiness, and a deeper form of healing.
